ALL PLAYERS CAN PLAY UP FOR A MAXIMUM OF 2 GAMES FOR THE WHOLE SEASON, however for the 2024 season only, a player who plays 2 half games on the same day for the same team is considered to have played up once instead of twice. This is due to the amount of wet weather cancellations experienced during the 2024 season.
Once a player has played up three times, they will remain in that grade and team or if you have played for two different teams, the highest graded team. This ruling applies to ALL players from 10 years - Seniors. Net Set Go players are NOT able to play up into 10 years teams. Please ensure that you write the borrowed players details into the borrowed player section.
PLEASE NOTE:
An ineligible player is one that is not entitled to play in the relevant grade or has not supplied the relevant information.
Any winning team playing with an ineligible player will lose 3 competition points to the other team. If the defeated team has an ineligible player, that team shall have 2 points deducted.
Where there are 2 teams in the same age group and grade, a player can not interchange between teams eg a you can not borrow across a grade - 12E cannot borrow a 12E player
Players playing in the Over 35s comp must be over 35 years of age
14 and 15 year old Rep teams can borrow from any 14 or 15 years old Development Squad but players need to follow the playing up guidelines and have their home club confirm they can play that week.
12 years and under CAN NOT play up in a Senior Grade
8 & 9 Net Set Go players CANNOT play up in any other grade: * 8 year olds can play in an 8, 8/9 or 9 team and 9 year olds can play in an 8, 8/9 or 9 year old team
For 10's, 11s and 12s:
Any A grade player playing up one (1) age group may only play in A or B Grades
Any A grade player playing up two (2) years or more age groups may only play in A, B or C grades
Any B grade player playing up one (1) age group may only play in A, B or C Grades
Any B grade player playing up two (2) years or more age groups may only play in A, B, C or D grades
All other Junior grades follow the same pattern
If a team has any question about playing up guidelines, please contact the Coaches Convenor or Secretary otherwise check with the Manly Tower before playing.
