IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Grading is compulsory for 10 - 15 year olds.
All players 10 years to 15 years must attend their allocated NYC Netball Grading Day(s).
Players grade for the age group they are turning in 2026 eg if you turn 11 in 2026, you grade as an 11 year old.
Any player turning 10 in 2026 will attend 2 Grading Days; Saturday 7 Feb (8.00am - 10am) and Saturday 14Feb (8.00am - 10.00am).
All players must be registered prior to Grading Day so NYC Netball can determine team numbers for the season.
Please arrive about 10 minutes beforehand to sign on and warm up before taking the court. Training clothes are to be worn, Drink bottle and a snack, no jewellery and hair tied back please.
Please drop your Daughter at the front door of the gym and have her name marked off and return to the car park.
If your Daughter is new to the club you may check yourself and her in, settle her and then return to the car park.
It is NYC policy that all junior members are graded into teams with players of similar ability and skill. All clubs in MWNA grade their players into teams the same way. The end result is better competition and a more enjoyable season for everybody. Each year all players are graded again regardless what happened the previous year. We recommend that you read the registration declaration carefully in regards to player withdrawals.
We encourage players/parents to accept their team allocation and make new friends. Once the season starts, children usually settle in and enjoy playing netball; that’s what we are here for. The support of the parents is greatly appreciated for this process to occur.
NYC grading process is a lengthy process and careful consideration is given to every player. During the season, Graders may observe player’s skill levels at games or receive reports from other executive members. The coach provides a season end coaches report on each player’s ability, skill, attendance at training and games, attitude, team commitment and potential. This is confidential and forms a part of the grading process.
MWNA also conduct grading for U10s as a team as it is their first year of competition.
